Check this super value meal for 2:
Potstickers, westlake beef soup, 1 TsingDao beer, a beef/shrimp chow fun and a fresh talapia over ginger sauce: $30.00!
The westlake beef soup and the talapia stole the show. The other stuff was decent.
Ambiance--none. A fly buzzing your head-free with every meal.
Cheep and good. Tasty no frills grub, Dimond-district style.

Pros: Cheap, good, big portion, and did I mention cheap already?
$13.99 for Lobster lo-mein.
$18 for 3 dishes and house soup.
Salt-n-pepa pork chop -- legit.
Best take-out joint in around Oakland Diamond district and Laurel area.
Cons: Not the kind of place where you would want to have Chinese banquets, because the food is not as refined.4 Stars

I was very pleasantly surprised by my first experience here. I had been avoiding it ever since I moved near by, but my friend finally talked me into it and I am glad he did.
There were lots of choices considering that the only meat I eat is fish. The Chinese broccoli was bright green, crisp, tender, tasty as hell! Salmon w/ green beans in black bean sauce, also yummy. Hot and sour soup, typical but good if you like that. Fried Cod with corn sauce was a departure for my mundane Chinese eating habits. Good but tasted like the sauce might be chickeny.
Service was quick, not doting but responsive. Ambience is not so great, but it's not expected at these prices, and the food makes up for it.4 stars

Ly Luck has now become by favorite Chinese restaurant in Oakland. ....heck, it is my favorite Chinese restuarant in the Bay Area., I will go one step further, Ly Luck is just my favorite Chinese restaurant period. They serve Chinese food much like you would find only in Chinatown. What do I mean by that? I have noticed that many places outside of Chinatown sort of Americanize their menus. Everything is a modification of a basic garlic sauce. ..
you have to try their dry fried Chow Fun, the key here is they charr the incredients with a blistering hot wok so you get the deep wok smokiness flavor. the portions are huge, I eat a lot, but I cannot finish an order of Chow Fun here.
The staff is ultra friendly, put it this way, about 3 weeks ago, we were having temperatures in the 90-100s. I came in at around 3pm when the place was empty, visably sweating and hot. The owner saw me and imediately turned on the AC. I got to thinking, I only spent about $9 for my lunch, but it must have cost them $10 to run the AC for the time I was there.5 Stars

I've been to so many Chinese restaurants in my life. Sometimes I want updated American Chinese and other times I want old school Chinese food. This is the place to go for the old school kind. They cooked our Chinese broccoli perfectly so that it still contained crunch. The oysters in soy sauce and and ginger were firm but not overcooked. Everyone at our table loved the crab so much we had to finish it right then and there. The steamed fish was so moist it melted in our mouth. The atmosphere in this place is your typical old school Chinese restaurant, but the food is outstanding!
